Greetings to everyone taking part in the salon VISEZ DROIT 2023.

I want to congratulate Salon VISEZ DROIT as it celebrates its 25^th anniversary this year. That is 25 years of bringing people together and making an impactful difference in the lives of litigants.

The Government of Canada is proud to continue working in partnership with the Bar of Montreal and its members. Our justice system has made great progress in recent years, specifically with addressing systemic racism and increasing access to justice for Indigenous peoples, racialized Canadians, and members of marginalized communities. These efforts would not be possible without the help of impactful initiatives like this one.

There is more work to do, but I am confident that by working together we will achieve our shared goal of transforming the justice system to make it more accessible and effective.
