Legal aid
LEGAL AID IS HERE TO HELP YOU
Legal aid is designed to enable those financially eligible to benefit from legal services to the extent provided by law and regulations.
ELIGIBILITY
Beneficiaries of Income Support can apply for free Legal Aid services.
To determine financial eligibility for Legal Aid, an applicant’s income, assets and cash as well as those of family members are taken into consideration. These three criteria (income, assets and cash) determine whether the applicant can obtain Legal Aid free or by the payment of a fee.
WHERE TO CALL
Those interested in receiving Legal Aid must apply to the Legal Aid office nearest to their home. To call the office nearest you, look in the telephone book under “Legal Aid” or “Aide juridique” (it is preferable to make an appointment before going to a Legal Aid office) or visit the Web Site of the Commission des services juridiques.
