2012-2013 – Mtre Dominique Vézina

Me Dominique VézinaMtre Dominique Vézina – Admitted to the Bar in 1988, she joined the firm of Donati Maisonneuve. Working mainly in civil and professional liability, she was most often asked to defend engineers, architects, podiatrists, insurance brokers and real estate agents.

Mtre Vézina first became involved with the Bar of Montreal on the Communications Committee, as a member from 1994 to 1997. She also participated from 1997 to 2004 in the work of the Liaison Committee with the Court of Québec, spending three years as its chair, and the Administration of Civil Justice Committee from 2001 to 2004. She stood out for her participation in the Council, elected in 2005 for a first two-year term as councillor, a term renewed twice for a total of six years’ service. In 2009-2010, she served on the Committee on Ethnocultural Diversity and from 2009 to 2012, made a significant contribution to the preparation of the Best Practices Guide now published by the Bar of Québec. At the same period, at the request of the Bar of Montreal, she joined a Bar of Québec taskforce that resulted in the creation of a two-day seminar on “The art of preparing and successfully completing a settlement conference.”  Since 2011, she has been a member of the Liaison with the Superior Court, Civil Division, where she has been involved in various sub-committees, including the one organizing the next symposium, at which she will also be a speaker.

Bâtonnière Catherine Pilon is pleased to present the Mérite award to Mtre Dominique Vézina, who is now and has always been a dedicated member of the committees on which she actively serves.  As a member of the Council, she was present, prepared and participated actively in discussions, and was always available for new tasks.
