JUSTICE PRO BONO: LAWYERS FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD

On May 25, 2009, the Québec Bar launched two new tools to improve access to justice and enable people to better understand how it works: Justice Pro Bono and Representing Yourself In Court, a guide published by the Fondation du Barreau du Québec.

Justice Pro Bono is a non-profit organization created on the initiative of the Québec Bar to promote and coordinate the activities of lawyers who agree to offer “pro bono” legal services, i.e. services for free or a very small charge, to individuals or public interest organizations lacking the resources to engage a lawyer to defend their rights.

For eligibility criteria, please consult the Justice Pro Bono Web site.

To find out more about Representing Yourself in Court, please consult the Fondation du Barreau du Québec Web site.
