We are the only section of the Quebec Bar that has retained the authority to take action against the illegal practice of law. The Quebec Bar has the authority to do so for the other sections outside of Montreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The illegal practice of law can seriously affect a victim\u2019s life and undermines the professional integrity and credibility of the entire legal community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why an awareness campaign?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-central-palette-1-color has-text-color has-link-color has-normal-font-size wp-elements-dbfaee45f82af148f1b2532d6704f2db\" style=\"line-height:1.5\">The number of cases brought to the attention of the Montreal Bar involving immigration law has greatly increased since 2018. In 2022 they represented close to 40% of all the complaints we received. In 2022 they represented close to 40% of all the complaints we received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montreal has the distinction of welcoming a large number of immigrants from many communities around the world.
