She then used her skills to serve the development of women\u2019s and children\u2019s rights, democracy and good governance on the African continent.<\/p>\n<p>Mtre Pelchat successively held the positions of Director of the Office of the Minister of State for Multiculturalism and the Status of Women in Qu\u00e9bec and the Minister of Justice of Qu\u00e9bec, before becoming Chair of the Council on the Status of Women in Qu\u00e9bec, a position she held from 2006 to 2011.
