Limited Scopes

The mandate of the Committee is to promote limited scope representation by all possible means. Limited scope representation is also known as “unbundling legal services” and designates situations where a lawyer’s instructions cover only part, and not all, of a file. This is a very effective measure for ensuring access to justice. Limited scope representation is available to everyone, allowing the public to benefit from a lawyer’s services within the limits imposed by law, the proportionality of the file, and an individual’s financial capacity.
