This webinar will address the more important issues involved in selection, protection and enforcement of brands in both Canada and the United States, with attention to the new trademark system which will be introduced in Canada in June 2019, along with adherence to the Madrid Protocol. An overview of these issues is provided by Ms. Stéphanie Thurber, partner at De GrandPré Chait in Montreal, and Ms. Jane Shay Wald, Partner Emeritus at Irell & Manella LLP in Los Angeles. Ms. Ginette St-Louis, vice-president at Vadis Avocats in Montreal, will act as moderator.
