Your colleagues shine in Chicago!

Partner Bars Since November 13, 2013, the Bar of Montreal and the Chicago Bar Association have been discussing for some time now the best way to underline their friendship and develop a joint project. Thus, taking advantage of the NAFTA renegotiation context, the two associations offered a two-day training program on free trade agreements on June 14 and 15, 2018 in Chicago. For the occasion, about twenty lawyers from Montreal flew to Chicago to attend a most informative symposium, featuring speakers from Canada, the United States and Mexico.

A warm welcome was given to the Montreal delegation by all members of the Chicago Bar Association. Participants also enjoyed the beauty of the Windy City, including an architectural cruise on the Chicago River and a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago.

The Bar of Montreal highlights the presence of several Montreal speakers at this conference and wishes to thank them warmly: Éric Bédard (Woods), Bernard Colas (CMKZ), Peter E. Kirby (Fasken), Vincent Routhier (DS Avocats), David Turgeon (Fasken), Simon Potter (McCarthy Tétrault) and John C. Carroll (BCF). The Bar also thanks the representatives of the Government of Quebec, Mr. Jean-François Hould, and the Government of Canada, Mr. Kevin R. Gray, for their participation in the conferences. Of course, the symposium could not have had this success without the invaluable contribution of Mtres Bianca Brault Lampron and Patrick Goudreau, from the organizing committee in Montreal.

Be there on November 15 and 16, 2018 for the second part of the symposium in Montreal in collaboration with the American Bar Association - Section of International Law (ABASIL): more details to come!
