The ceremony will take place in the presence of members of the Bench and the Bar. Distinguished guests will speak on this occasion, namely the Right Hon. Richard Wagner, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Hon. Mahmud Jamal, newly appointed judge of the Supreme Court of Canada, Mrs. Bâtonnière Catherine Claveau, of the Barreau du Québec, Mtre Mathieu Jacques, President of the Young Bar of Montreal and Mr. Bâtonnier Extra Junior Laguerre, of the Bar of Montreal.
During the ceremony, the Bâtonnier of the Bar of Montreal will present the Medal of the Bar of Montreal to Mrs. Juanita Westmoreland-Traoré, retired judge of the Court of Quebec, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the cause of justice, and pay tribute to the lawyers celebrating their 60th or 50th anniversary of admission to the Bar.
Mtre Joey Hanna will act as master of ceremonies.
