Free legal consultations are given from monday to wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
and on thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Want advice on writing a will, ways to collect debts, the steps to follow when starting a company or arranging a merger? There’s never a shortage of questions. It’s a great learning opportunity, offered to the public at no charge. During last year's event, nearly 1,000 free, private consultations were given by lawyers from the Bar of Montreal. Synnott (Bâtonnier of Montreal) and presentation of the VISEZ DROIT prizes to Ms. Nathalie Otis, psychologist (Public Sector) and Mtre Michel Huot (Legal Sector). Interactive quiz on new legal realities affecting housing law, scripted by Mtres Sandra Tremblay and Stéphanie Bouchard and hosted by Mtre André d’Orsonnens in collaboration with Mtre Francine Beaumier. Mtre Clara Poissant Lespérance and Ms. Jessica Lelièvre (respectively lawyer and legal intern at Trudel, Johnston & Lespérance) team up against Mtres Eli Kano (TBPK) and Jonathan Pierre-Étienne (Grondin Savarese).

#MOIAUSSI ET LE DOUTE RAISONNABLE
One year after the #metoo movement, dialogue on the standard of proof required in sexual assault cases, moderated by Mtre Joey Hanna, along with Ms. Marie-Maude Denis (CBC journalist and announcer), Ms. Karine MacDonald (counsellor with the CAVAC), Mtre Marie-Christine Latour (criminal defence lawyer) and Mtre Rachelle Pitre (assistant chief attorney with the DCPP).

INITIATION – EUPHORIE – CAUCHEMAR
Presentation of the various stages of the legal process and restorative justice with the case study of a university student who falls into an ethylic coma and suffers significant neurological damage after an excessive consumption of alcohol during orientation week. Except for the judge, all the roles will be performed by students from the Cégep régional de Lanaudière à l’Assomption. Scripted by Mtres Denise Boulet and Sandra Tremblay.

A play on animal rights performed by students from Gentilly Elementary School, followed by a discussion with Mtre Joey Hanna, Ms. Nathalie Otis (psychologist) and Mtre Sophie Gaillard (SPCA). Scripted by Mtre Alec Fafard.
 

SUPERVISEZ DROIT
Students from Gentilly and Jean-Grou Elementary Schools participate in an interactive quiz adapted for young people, with the help of Mtres Yasmine Sentissi and Guillaume Tremblay. Scripted by Mtre Stefano Mingarelli and hosted by Mtre André d’Orsonnens.

LA TÊTE DE L’EMPLOI
Interactive game hosted by Mtre Joey Hanna, in which the audience tries to identify who, among the various participants from the legal community, is the judge.
 
DÉCONSTRUIRE ET RECONSTRUIRE LA JUSTICE

Short plays performed by students from Père-Marquette High School, illustrating situations in which various people’s rights are infringed. Hosted by Mtre Joey Hanna, discussing with Mtre Alec Fafard. Scripted by Mtre Élise Robert Breton.

EN ROUTE VERS MES DROITS
Interactive quiz on the application of different legal concepts (Highway Safety, Labour and Consumer Rights), scripted by Mtre Jean Michel Desgagnés and co-hosted by Mtres André d’Orsonnens and Joey Hanna. Mtres Joëlle Gauthier and Sarah-Claude Pelletier team up against Mtres Michel Huot and Sabine Uwitonze.
 

WRITE FOR JUSTICE
Awards ceremony for the literary essay contest, with the themes “What issues do you think will result from the legalization of cannabis?” and “In your opinion, what does it mean to be a responsible citizen?”, co-hosted by Mtre André d’Orsonnens and actor François-Étienne Paré.

TRIAL V. MEDIATION

Simulated trial and mediation offer very different outcomes to the same medical wrongdoing. Except for the judge and the mediator, all the roles will be performed by students from the Collège Jean-Eudes. Scripted by Mtre Véronique Collard.


 
IMPROVISEZ DROIT

Improvisational game with actor François-Étienne Paré as referee, actor Daniel Malenfant and Mtre Suzie Bouchard as coach/players, and Mtres Antoine Aylwin, Alexandre Forest, Joey Hanna, Jessy Héroux, Justine Lambert-Boulianne and Sophia M. Rossi. Mtres André d’Orsonnens and Magali Fournier will act as commentators.
