Given that the claims limit for the Small Claims Division has risen to $15,000 and that the Code of Civil Procedure acknowledges that parties may consult a lawyer to prepare the presentation for their case, the Hon. Nathalie Chalifour, JCQ, and the Hon. Dominique Vézina, JCQ, will demystify the Small Claims Division’s judicial process. They will discuss the applicable principles, jurisdiction, the original application up to and including the conduct of the litigation, while emphasizing the lawyer’s role.

This activity will enable participants to fully prepare litigants to act alone in the Small Claims Division, thereby broadening their service offering while better serving their existing clients.

*Training by a recognized provider for the purposes of mandatory continuing education – 1.5 hours.
An attestation of attendance will be emailed after the activity.
