This lecture covers 10 of the top differences between US and Canadian copyright law that are important for you and your clients to know. What are the differences? What are the similarities? What are the practical implications? An overview of these issues is provided by experienced counsel from each country.

Speakers:

Mr. Marek Nitoslawski is Partner and Trademark Agent at Fasken Martineau in Montreal, where he focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and protection. A frequent and popular speaker on intellectual property issues at various conferences and seminars, Mr. Nitoslawski has been recognized as a leading practitioner in Intellectual Property by Lexpert and by Canada’s Best Lawyers.

Mr. Paul D. Supnik has an individual practice in Beverly Hills and is also Of Counsel to Rufus-Isaacs, Acland & Grantham LLP, where he focuses on trademark, copyright and entertainment law. Having published many papers and often spoken on these subjects, Mr. Supnik is recognized as a leading practitioner in his field by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings “AV” and has been selected by SuperLawyers in Southern California for intellectual property for the years 2010 through 2017.

Moderator:

Ms Ginette St Louis started her individual practice St Louis JurInnovation in Montreal after working more than 5 years for government. She focuses her practice on real estate law, business law and construction law and she obtained her title as Training instructor in 2017. Ms. St Louis is a member of the International Relations Committee of the Bar of Montreal and she provides training and seminars in the construction field.
