Every year, The Bar of Montreal awards various prizes to law students, to honor excellence in several subjects. In 2008-2009, these prizes were awarded to law students as listed below.

The McGill moot court

This Moot Court took place on April 6, 2009 before a bench of three judges: the Honourable Marc Beauregard of the Québec Court of Appeal, the Honourable Carol Cohen of the Superior Court and the Honourable Jacques Nadeau of the Court
of Québec.

At the end of the competition, Mtre. Stephen G. Schenke, Bâtonnier, presented the following prizes: $500 to Marie-Claude Mercier and Guy-Philippe Bouchard (winning team), $200 to Marie-Claude Mercier (best pleader) and $100 to Seo Yun Yang (second best pleader).

The prize of The Bar of Montreal

Institution of this prize, presented to an articling student or a young lawyer from the Barreau de Paris, was made possible by the generous contribution of the late BÂtonnier Émile Poissant, c.r.

On December 4, 2009 during a trip to Paris where he represented The Bar of Montreal at the Séance solennelle de la Rentrée du Barreau de Paris et de la Conférence du Stage, Bâtonnier Nicolas Plourde presented this $800 prize (480 Euros) to its winner, monsieur David Marais, cinquième Secrétaire de la Conférence du Stage du Barreau de Paris.
